Department/Division/System Leaders listen up! It is amazing what we are able to do when survival is at stake. I am witnessing you deliver on some of the very requests previously denied to staff. From working from home, to remotely joining staff meetings and facilitating 1-1 discussions, your answer had always been, 'we can't do that'. Well look at you 'doing that'. Now there's a train coming and on it are the same questions and requests except this time it's different. When words like 'fair', 'equity', and 'balance' didn't work, your staff felt frustrated and defeated. Now the term is precedent and you've set one. So yes, there is a reckoning coming and I highly suggest you start preparing. You can hear a train before you see it. If you plan is to wait till you see it before you are intentional on your response, you my friend are too late.
